Good questions.
How do I shoot?
Touch the basketball and swipe towards the hoop. Direction steers your shot; swipe speed controls its power. Start with a short, smooth upward flick and adjust from there.
How do ranked runs work?
Every ranked run starts at Stage 1. Each stage gives you 30 seconds to reach its target. Clear it to continue and add to your total. Miss the target and the run ends. Distances, angles and moving hoops appear as you progress. There is no final stage.
How are points calculated?
A clean basket starts at 3 points; other successful baskets start at 2. A stage multiplier increases up to 6×. From your third consecutive basket, a streak doubles the basket’s points until a miss. Streaks reset between stages. Your run score adds your stage scores together.
What is Practice?
Practice lets you work on available stages using the same shot rules as ranked play. Practice results stay on your device and do not go to the global leaderboard.
Can I play on iPad?
Yes. Hoop Shooter supports compatible iPads running iPadOS 17 or later, in portrait and landscape. It also supports compatible iPhones running iOS 17 or later.
How do I use iPhone Duo tabletop play?
On iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later, partially fold the phone into a tabletop pose. The court appears on the lower half and the hoop on the upper half. Unfold for the flat view. Other iPhones and iPads use the flat court.
Where are the themes, music and ball designs?
Open Settings from Home or during a game. Choose Classic, Retro or Sci-Fi, and turn music and sound effects on or off. Retro and Sci-Fi ball designs unlock as you progress. Classic keeps the original orange ball. Sound respects Silent Mode.
Why is my Game Center score different from my local best?
Your all-time best on this device and your Game Center record are separate. Game Center receives scores from ranked runs played while signed in. Earlier anonymous scores are not automatically transferred when you later sign in. Practice never submits a score.
My score has not appeared on the leaderboard. What should I do?
Check your connection and Game Center sign-in, then open Settings in the game and refresh your global rank. Pending scores for an authenticated account retry when you return online. A lower score will not replace your best. To change accounts or sign out, open your device’s Settings → Game Center.
Can I pause or resume a run?
Pause during play to take a break. Returning from the background leaves the round paused. Quitting ends the run, but keeps your earned best score and unlocked ball collection. Restarting the app does not resume an unfinished run.
How do I share my score?
Choose Share Score after clearing a stage or at the end of a ranked run. The system share sheet lets you choose a compatible app, such as a messaging app. Available destinations depend on what you have installed. Nothing is posted automatically.
